## Pre-Road-Trip Vehicle Checklist

A 2-hour errand and a 12-hour road trip demand different prep. Here's your comprehensive checklist to avoid breakdowns and stay safe.

### Fluid & Mechanical (2-3 days before)

- Engine oil level and condition
- Coolant level (check when cold)
- Brake fluid level and feel (soft pedal? Get service immediately)
- Transmission fluid level
- Windshield washer fluid
- Power steering fluid

### Tires & Wheels

- Tire pressure (check cold) and tread depth (minimum 4/32" for safety)
- Spare tire condition and air pressure
- Lug nut tightness

- Headlights, taillights, brake lights, and turn signals
- Windshield wipers and washer nozzles
- Mirrors and glass (clean and functional)
- Seat belts

### Systems Check
